GOAL KEEPER

David De Gea 

One of the top 3 goal keepers in the game today and will only get better. In 2020, De Gea could very well be the undoubted number 1 keeper in the world.

DEFENCE

Matteo Darmian 
Has had a fairly solid start to his United career and was very consistent in the early weeks of the season. It seems Italian defenders are like a fine wine (they get better with age) and Darmian could find himself being United’s Right Back for 2020 and beyond.

Chris (Mike) Smalling 

Smalling has made a huge improvement on last year and is one of the best Centre Backs in the Premier League. There is still room for improvement regarding his distribution but his tackling ability cannot be questioned.

Luke Shaw

Shaw was having an amazing season until his unfortunate injury ruled him out for pretty much the whole season. If Shaw continues to develop at the rate he was, there is no doubt he could be the best Left Back in the world in 2020.

Axel Tuanzebe

Voted United’s young player of the year last season and has been very impressive at the back this season too. Tuanzebe is very comfortable on the ball and could forge a formidable partnership with Chris Smalling.

MIDFIELD

Morgan Schneiderlin 

Underrated in the current United team and could be a real leader from that deep midfield position just like Carrick and Schweinsteiger before him.

Adnan Januzaj

Burst onto the scene a couple of years ago under David Moyes however his development has slowed since. There is no doubting his technical ability and Januzaj could slot nicely into that number 10/ winger role.

Andreas Pereira 

Another huge talent from the Manchester United Youth system that has seen some action so far this season. Pereira has already starred for Brazil and is being tipped by a lot of United fans to be the brightest star of all.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah

Has been an absolute beast in the Youth team this past year and could dominate the centre of the park alongside Schneiderlin in the coming years.

Memphis

A tricky start to his United career hopefully won’t affect his trajectory as a player as he one of the best players 21 and under in the game today.

STRIKERS

Anthony Martial 

Has made a great start to life at United and has shown his all-round talent, including the ability to lead the line as a sole striker. The scary thing is in 2020 Martial will be just 24 years of age.
